School Age (5 to 12 years)
In this classroom, the children are acclimated to a classroom setting and either attend public or private school during the academic year. We offer both a before and after school program as well as a full day camp experience during school vacation weeks and summer break. The schedule during the school year focuses around PM snack, homework, and a release from the structure of their regular school day. There are group and individual centers and activities offered including sports, arts and crafts, music and movement, and manipulative toys. The children have access to bathrooms, quiet areas for reading and homework, and a playground designed for sports activities and group play.
Our focus on developmental goals for this classroom revolve around strengthening the social and emotional bonds between the children and teachers in the classroom, getting them ready for bigger responsibilities at home and at school, and helping them understand the responsibilities of balancing school and play.
The children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of offerings including dance, crafts, karate, and other outside-party activities that come to our school for an even better experience while in our care.
